Working in partnership with the voluntary sector
An important part of local schemes has been the active involvement of voluntary sector organisations in local project and delivery partnerships.
For the Low Vision Pilots, this has meant that both the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB) and local societies have played a major role in setting up the pilot, as well as in the delivery of the project.
Whilst drawing upon their valuable experience and knowledge of supporting people with sight loss, they have ensured and facilitated the active involvement of patients/clients within the wider reference group for the projects.
